About Pacific Tower
Pacific Tower is a dynamic hub for some of the state’s most vital and innovative public and nonprofit organizations. Located on Beacon Hill in one of Seattle’s most iconic buildings, Pacific Tower brings together the health care training programs of Seattle Central College with leading organizations whose work spans issues of health care, education, job creation, energy conservation and the health of the nonprofit sector. The driving vision for Pacific Tower is to create an environment that fosters intentional linkages and synergies among the partner organizations to magnify their impact.
The community benefits of synergy at Pacific Tower are already becoming clear:
- Seattle Central College and Neighborcare are working together to create a Dental Teaching Clinic, where students will receive training as dental hygienists and dental assistants in a fully functioning community dental clinic that will provide more than 15,000 visits each year for low-income patients
- FareStart, which trains homeless individuals for careers in the culinary field, is providing food services for the entire building, as well as delivering more than 3000 meals a day to nearby early learning centers and schools
- 501 Commons, Building Changes, the Cross Cultural Health Care Program, Smart Buildings Center, and many other partner organizations are hosting meetings and training sessions in the Tower’s shared meeting rooms that bring together people from across the state and around the world.
These and the many other beneficial programs now taking shape at Pacific Tower are made possible through a long-term lease between the State Department of Commerce and the Pacific Hospital Preservation and Development Authority (PHPDA), which owns the Tower and surrounding campus. The PHPDA pursues its mission to champion effective health care for the vulnerable and disadvantaged by using the lease revenue from the tenants to make grants to community organizations to reduce health disparities.
Key to the success of Pacific Tower is access to meeting, conference and event space, not only for the college and other partner organizations, but for the community as a whole. We have multiple rooms available for rental in the The Panoramic Center and in the smaller Meeting Rooms.
